OPTIMIZATION OF A WORDPRESS WEBSITE TO GET AN A GRADE IN GTMETRIX

It is important to bring in the more traffic and increase the organic and relevance visitors. This also win the trust which results in the conversion of visitors into customers. Akamai research shows that a 1 second delay in page response can result in a 7% reduction in conversions.

Here I will show you how I get an A grade for a wordpress website in GTmetrix.

At first the gtmetrix pagespeed grade is F (40%) and not that the page size is about 2.5mb.

Step 1: Enabled mod_deflate to reduce the page size.

Result: See the magic! The grade became B (89%) and the page-size reduced to 1mb.

Step 2: Enabled mod_expires to specify the cache expire period of static contents.

Result: The performance again improved. The grade became A (92%) and the page-size = 0.98mb.

Step 3: Enabled mod_pagespeed to improve the page loading speed of the website.

Result: The grade became A (95%) and page-size gets reduced to 661 KB.
